3 Days And 2 Nights Desert Tour From Marrakech to Fez

This classic 3-day desert tour connects Marrakech and Fes through southern Morocco’s most impressive landscapes. Cross the High Atlas Mountains and visit Ait Ben Haddou before continuing through Ouarzazate, the Valley of Roses and Dades Valley. The second day includes Todra Gorge, Rissani and a sunset camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Spend the night in a traditional desert camp before travelling through the Ziz Valley, Midelt and the Middle Atlas Mountains to Fes.

Your Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Marrakech to Dades Valley

   Depart from Marrakech at approximately 8:00 AM and cross the High Atlas Mountains through Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Visit Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed fortified village, before continuing to Ouarzazate and Atlas Film Studios. Travel through the Valley of Roses and Dades Valley, arriving near Dades Gorge for sunset, dinner and an overnight stay.

2. Day 2

   Dades Valley to Merzouga

   After breakfast, continue toward Tinghir and Todra Gorge. Walk between the towering canyon walls before travelling through Erfoud to Rissani. Explore the traditional market and historic surroundings during the lunch stop. Continue to Merzouga and begin a camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset. Enjoy dinner, music and an overnight stay in a desert camp beneath the stars.

3. Day 3

   Merzouga to Fes

   Wake early for sunrise over the dunes and enjoy breakfast at the camp. Return from the desert and travel through Rissani, the Ziz Valley and Midelt. Continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains and cedar forests before arriving in Fes in the late afternoon or evening.
