4 Days & 3 Nights Marrakech to Fes via Desert Trip

This 4-day Marrakech-to-Fes desert tour provides more time in Merzouga than the faster three-day itinerary. Travel across the High Atlas Mountains to Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate before continuing through the Valley of Roses, Dades Valley and Todra Gorge. Spend one night near the Erg Chebbi dunes before enjoying a full desert-exploration day. Visit Khamlia, Rissani and the landscapes surrounding Merzouga before riding a camel to a desert camp. The final journey to Fes follows the Ziz Valley, Midelt and the Middle Atlas Mountains.

Your Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Marrakech to Dades Valley

   Depart from Marrakech after breakfast and cross the High Atlas Mountains through Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Visit Ait Ben Haddou before continuing to Ouarzazate, Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas Film Studios. Travel through the Valley of Roses and Dades Valley before arriving near Dades Gorge for dinner and an overnight stay.

2. Day 2

   Dades Valley to Merzouga

   After breakfast, explore the Dades landscapes and continue toward Tinghir. Walk through Todra Gorge before travelling through Erfoud to Merzouga. Arrive near the Erg Chebbi dunes before sunset. Enjoy dinner, Saharan music and an overnight stay in a hotel or kasbah.

3. Day 3

   Merzouga Desert Exploration and Erg Chebbi Camp

   After breakfast, explore the surroundings of Merzouga. Visit Khamlia for traditional Saharan music and continue toward Rissani to discover the market, historic kasbahs and local food. Return to Merzouga in the afternoon and meet your camel guide. Ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset before reaching the desert camp for mint tea, dinner, traditional music and an overnight stay beneath the stars.

4. Day 4

   Merzouga to Fes

   Wake early for sunrise over the dunes and enjoy breakfast at the camp. Return from the desert and travel through the Ziz Valley toward Midelt. Continue across the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing cedar forests and Ifrane before arriving in Fes in the late afternoon or evening.
