4 Days Morocco Tour from Tangier to Marrakech via Desert

This 4-day Morocco tour connects Tangier and Marrakech through some of the country’s most celebrated cultural sites and natural landscapes. Begin in the Rif Mountains with a visit to Chefchaouen before exploring the Roman ruins of Volubilis and the imperial city of Meknes. Continue across the Middle Atlas Mountains and spend the first night in Midelt. Travel through the Ziz Valley and Rissani to Merzouga, where a sunset camel trek leads to an overnight camp among the Erg Chebbi dunes. The journey continues through Todra Gorge, Dades Valley and Ouarzazate before visiting Ait Ben Haddou and crossing the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech.

Your Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Tangier to Midelt

   Meet your driver at your hotel, Tangier Port or Tangier Airport and depart toward Chefchaouen. Enjoy a short visit to the blue medina, its main square, traditional souks and colourful streets before continuing toward Volubilis. Explore the ancient Roman ruins and discover the remains of a city that flourished nearly two thousand years ago. Continue to Meknes for a short visit that may include Bab Mansour and the old imperial centre. Travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains and cedar forests before reaching Midelt for dinner and an overnight stay.

2. Day 2

   Midelt to Merzouga

   After breakfast, leave Midelt and travel through the Ziz Valley, traditional Berber villages and desert landscapes. Stop at panoramic viewpoints overlooking the Ziz Oasis before continuing to Rissani. Explore the historic town, traditional market and old kasbahs. You may also try Medfouna, the local stuffed flatbread known as Berber pizza. Continue to Merzouga and meet your camel guide near the Erg Chebbi dunes. Ride across the golden sands while watching the sunset. Arrive at the desert camp for dinner, stargazing and an overnight stay in a traditional tent.

3. Day 3

   Merzouga to Ouarzazate

   Wake early to admire the sunrise before breakfast and departure. Travel through Rissani and continue toward Tinghir and Todra Gorge. Walk between the towering canyon walls and enjoy the river and palm-filled surroundings. Continue through Dades Valley and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing fortified villages and traditional mud-brick architecture. Arrive in Ouarzazate for dinner and an overnight stay.

4. Day 4

   Ouarzazate to Marrakech

   After breakfast, explore Ouarzazate, including Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas Film Studios. Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its traditional earthen architecture and cinematic history. Cross the High Atlas Mountains through Tizi n’Tichka Pass, passing mountain villages and panoramic viewpoints. Arrive in Marrakech and conclude the tour with drop-off at your hotel or riad.
